Magazine Contact Guestbook News If you take one look at Jon, he stands out right away. Being of so many ethnicities (he is Korean, Hawaiian, Swedish, German and Cherokee) is one reason for that. The other is the fact he is 6' 2 1/2. Jon graduated in May 2007 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a dual degree in Sports Management and Business. The Palatine, Illinois (a Chicago suburb) native was accepted for admissions to law school but knew that life was too short to not pursue his passions. Jon was involved in high school and college athletics, particularly basketball (he boasts a 37 inch vertical leap), football and track and field. He grew up with aspirations of being a professional athlete but always deeply admired those involved in theater when in high school. In fact, Jon admits that if he could do it all over again, he would have opted to be in at least one of the school plays. Jon also has a second degree black belt in Tae-Kwon-Do and is a former Golden Gloves boxer. To see page sport here He is an accomplished violinist and plays the guitar as a hobby. He received his first feature film role after responding to a casting post on the Craigslist website in May 2007. "Redefining Normal" co-producer and screenwriter Anthony Bruce was extremely impressed with Jon's persistence (and desire to "partake" in a film project) and awarded him the role after Jon flew himself all the way from Chicago to Los Angeles just to audition for Anthony's film. His very first Hollywood audition was for "Redefining Normal" . Although he didn't get the role that he originally auditioned for, producer Anthony Bruce decided that he was too talented to not have in the film so a role was written in for him. He is actually shooting V.i.l.a The Chronicles with fellow Native American Rick Mora.
